If you have checked out many websites, you have probably come across some error message from time to time. An error can take place in case the website hosting server cannot process a request (Error 400), if you have to log in to see some content and you haven't done so (Error 401), if you are not able to access some webpage (Error 403) or if a link leads to a file that isn't on the server (Error 404). Encountering this type of messages could often be annoying as the pages don't have anything in common with the actual website. That’s why some hosting providers allow you to apply your own error pages which will match the style of your own website and which may have any content which you'd like - information why the error has taken place, a suggestion how to proceed or even some witty remark. This kind of feature will help you keep the visitor on the site irrespective of the error and the reason for it.

Custom Error Pages in Shared Website Hosting

The custom made error pages function is available with each shared website hosting package we offer and you will be able to replace all of the generic pages with your own with no more than just a few clicks inside your Hepsia website hosting CP. You shall have to produce the actual files and to upload them to your account, then to set them for a particular domain or subdomain from the Hosted Domains section of the Hepsia CP. You may do this for each site hosted in the account separately, so that each group of custom made pages will have the same design and style as the website it's part of. If required, you may always return back to a default page from our system or to the default Apache server page. Another way to set custom made error pages is to create an .htaccess file inside the domain/subdomain root folder and to add a few lines in it. If you have never done this before, you may simply copy the necessary program code from our Help article on this subject.
